The Hawkes Bay region is situated mid-way on the east coast of the North Island of New Zealand. Havelock North is a small township/suburb, a five minute drive from Hastings, the main service town of the region. Hastings is also known as the Fruitbowl of New Zealand.
Te Mata Peak is nestled behind Havelock North and is easily reached via a sealed road all the way to the summitt (399m).

Hawkes Bay only airport is located in Napier (a twenty minute drive to Hastings) and connects to all major national airports.
Road -
From Auckland expect a 5 hour drive. From Wellington expect a 4 hour drive.
